What are the Green Deal targets?

The European Green Deal is a set of targets aiming to make Europe climate neutral by 2050.

The European Green Deal aims to “transform the EU into a fair and prosperous society, with a modern, resource-efficient and competitive economy where there are no net emissions of greenhouse gases in 2050 and where economic growth is decoupled from resource use.”  In other words, The Green Deal aims to develop a specific and circular economy, to restore biodiversity and to tackle climate change throughout Europe through a set of legislative measures (taxes) and incentives (various support mechanisms, in particular pertaining to research and innovation).
