Compression stations are used to regulate the rate of flow and pressure in the gas transport grid.
They draw in the low pressure gas, then expel it at a higher pressure so that it can travel through the grid. When located at junctions, they can also help direct the gas in the desired direction, according to customer needs.
At Teréga, our compression resources have, over time, been replaced by electric compressors, which produce lower emissions. We have also developed a digital tool we can use to optimise the management of our machinery in real time, factoring in CO2 emissions.
