Gas transportSRGG pilot (recovery of gas from seals system)

2019-2021

As an actor in energy transition, Teréga has the objective of reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through its BE Positif programme. Among the actions taken by Teréga to achieve that objective is the SRGG Pilot at the Mont compression station. The aim of the pilot programme is to recover gas coming from the compressor seals, which is normally released into the atmosphere. It will then be recompressed for reinjection into the Teréga grid. That will enable the compression station’s GHG emissions to be limited.

Goals

  • Installation of an auxiliary compressor enabling gases to be recovered from seals
  • Reduction of about 1200 Tonnes CO2 equivalent (tCO2e) in Teréga’s emissions
  • Deployment of the system across the other compression stations if the pilot is successful

Schedule

  • 2019-2020: Studies

  • March to July 2021: Completion of works

  • October 2021: Commissioning
