What is agricultural methanisation?
Agricultural methanisation is the natural process of decomposing organic waste from agriculture, enabling it to be converted into renewable energy. This waste, known as inputs, are as follows:
Livestock effluents or animal waste: slurry and manure (pig, cattle or poultry droppings)
Crop residues: from maize or cereals, etc.
CIVE (Cultures Intermédiaires à Valorisation Énergétique - intermediate energy crops), which also offer advantages in terms of soil maintenance.
Methanisation projects offer a number of advantages for farmers, enabling them to recycle their waste while contributing to the energy transition and generating additional income.
Teréga helps farmers with their methanisation projects, from the design stage right through to injection into the gas networks.
