What is energy frugality?

Energy frugality aims to reduce consumption by avoiding excess and waste through the adoption of more virtuous and sustainable practices (e.g. turning down the heating, switching off unused appliances, etc.)

The reduction in deliveries of natural gas from Russia, due to the outbreak of war in Ukraine in 2022, has reduced Europe’s gas capacity by 40%. A national energy efficiency plan has therefore been put in place, with the aim of reducing our energy consumption by 40% by 2050, through 15 measures aimed at both the French people and specific professional sectors.

Teréga supports its customers in this transition by providing a range of tools to help them reduce energy consumption. For example, Teréga has set up “Ecogaz” with GRTgaz, GRDF, ADEME and IGNES to inform the public about tensions on the gas network in order to involve citizens and companies in optimising consumption. Teréga has also set up a fuel comparator for its customers to help them make the transition to more sustainable mobility.
