The Teréga Accélérateur d’Énergies Endowment Fund supports a project for energy autonomy at sea with a view to the 2028 Vendée Globe

The Teréga Accélérateur d’Énergies Endowment Fund announces its support for the Vent des Barges association and skipper Arnaud Boissières, who is preparing for the 2028 Vendée Globe.

The project led by Vent des Barges aims to limit the use of fossil fuels at sea. The IMOCA will be equipped with an energy mix combining a hydrogen fuel cell, hydrogenerators, and solar panels, in order to move towards energy autonomy without the use of a thermal engine during the race. The Teréga Accélérateur d’Énergies Endowment Fund includes this support in its area of action dedicated to the protection of the environment and biodiversity. This initiative aims to demonstrate that offshore racing can constitute a space for technological innovation contributing to the reduction of the environmental footprint.

This sponsorship, granted for the year 2026, aims to support the development of energy autonomy solutions aboard Team Arnaud Boissières' IMOCA boat.
