What is energy sovereignty?
Energy sovereignty means the capacity of a territory to meet its energy needs in an autonomous and sustainable way, to guarantee its independence, having direct control over its energy resources, production and infrastructure.
Energy sovereignty is a major issue for industry, and involves:
Guaranteeing security of the energy supply in the territory,
Encouraging the development of renewable gases to reduce imports of fossil fuels,
Investing in the adaptation or construction of infrastructures to strengthen energy resilience.
To achieve this, Teréga is accelerating its energy transition, most notably by reducing its dependence on energy supplies from distant sources, through the use of innovative alternatives. So it is not simply about energy frugality, but about sovereignty.
