What is a Call for Expression of Interest?

A Call for Expression of Interest (CEI) is a formal invitation sent out by an organisation, often as part of the preparations for an invitation to tender. It is intended to identify parties who are interested in a specific project, such as gas transport and storage.

The CEI is an opportunity to sound out the market, to gather information and to understand the needs of the different actors. It may involve projects of different kinds, from the construction of infrastructure to the development of new technologies.

In the gas sector, a CEI may be a key element in the planning phase, by giving stakeholders an opportunity to express their views, refine their needs, and make an active contribution to the definition and success of the project.

On 26 June 2023, Teréga launched a Call for Expression of Interest. The aim was to gain an accurate picture of regional, national and European requirements regarding the transport and storage of hydrogen (H2) and carbon dioxide (CO2). This CEI will allow Teréga to adjust the design of its projects to best meet the needs of the actors and the territories involved.
