How does Teréga store gas?

Teréga operates two underground storage sites, located at Lussagnet (Landes) and Izaute (Gers), which represent nearly 25.4 % of French gas storage capacity.

These natural cavities are located between 500 and 900 m below ground level, in the “reservoir” rock. The gas is injected into them and drawn off via operating wells, before being treated, odorised and injected into the transport grid.
