Narbonne-Claira: A Project Serving the Territories

Located between the communes of Narbonne and Claira, this project addresses the need to modernize and secure our gas transmission infrastructure within the Aude and Pyrénées-Orientales departments.

With pipelines dating back more than 50 years, Teréga must renew its network to comply with current regulatory and technical requirements.

Prior public consultation

The alignment of the PLU (Plan Local d'Urbanisme - Local Urban Plan) is required for the natural gas transmission pipeline construction project ("Narbonne-Claira" project) carried out by Teréga.

The route of the future pipeline crosses "classified wooded areas" within the municipalities of Narbonne (11) and Sigean (11). To ensure the project complies with the PLU, it is necessary to modify the zoning of the classified wooded area along the future facility.

This compliance procedure is subject to a public consultation under the Urban Planning Code. It will take place from August 24, 2026, to September 7, 2026.

Organized under the Urban Planning Code (art. L103-2), this consultation aims to:

  • Inform the public of the PLU compliance project.

  • Allow the population, particularly local residents, to review its specifications.

  • Allow any interested person to submit their observations.
